CWRD Xena Pistachio

June 22nd 2005 - April 1st 2008

Xena (aka Boomer for her boomerang shaped headspot) was a black dumbo collared/variegated from dalmatian lines, who came to me as an adult, from Cheesy Wishes and Rattie Dreams Rattery in Ferndale Washington.

Xena and I had a long "on again, off again" history together and she was very dear to my heart.  She was my first choice baby in the CWRD Baskin Robbins litter, but unfortunately she was reserved by an Idaho Rattery that was ahead of me on the waiting list.  When transportation to the other Rattery didn't work out, they cancelled their reservation, and I was able to reserve her... but just as I was about to bring her home, CWRD rattery was hit with a virus and forced to go into quarantine for several months.  As often happens, by the time their quarantine ended, the owners of CWRD had become quite attached to Xena and decided to keep her.  

Finally, when CWRD Rattery had to close down in November 2005, I helped them to re-home their 56 remaining rats.  As a bonus, I got first pick of the ratties needing homes.  Naturally I chose Xena, along with her two sisters, Tiva and Yoda, with whom she was closely bonded.  They were all very sweet girls with a fantastic pedigree, so I was thrilled to have them, both as pets and as part of my breeding program. 

Of the 3 CWRD sisters Xena was definitely the biggest photo ham.
